Summary of the tourist season 2015

The round table on the topic "Summary of the tourist season 2015" held in GRAND HOTEL EMERALD on the 20th of October. The event was attended by representatives of the Committee for Tourism of St. Petersburg Rimma Sachunova and Nana Gvichiya, representatives of the "City Tourist Information Office" and Northwest branch of the Russian Union of Travel Industry, the staff of museums and universities of St. Petersburg, as well as guides and tour guides and interpreters. GRAND HOTEL EMERALD’s team was proud not only to participate, but also to become a partner by hosting the guests and the speakers of such important industry event for second time.

Deputy chairman of the Committee for Tourism of St. Petersburg Rimma Sachunova thanked tour operators and representatives of the city's museums for productive work. Number of tourists visiting St. Petersburg, has already exceeded six million.

Rimma Sochunova also noted the great prospects of the Asia-Pacific market: the flow of Chinese tourists to 2.5 times higher than the figures of the first half of 2014. In addition, the growth of tourist traffic to St. Petersburg from the Russian regions, according to experts, was in the first half of 2015 about 20% compared to 2014 year. The result of the joint work of all industry participants in this year becomes World Travel Awards prize as a tourist destination.

Valery Malyshev reported the results of the St. Petersburg "City Tourist Information Office". During the first 9 months of this year,  tourist information offices and pavilions visited about 150 thousand people, which has already surpassed the number of visitors for the entire 2014. The Bureau continues to develop new tourist routes.

Also, the results of its work in 2015, told the representatives of the Russian Museum, the Museum of the History of Religion, Razliv Historical and Cultural Complex, the House of Culture of Lev Lurie and the Street Art Museum.
