The resort fee
In accordance with the Law of St. Petersburg dated June 28, 2023 No. 419-81 "On the introduction of a resort fee on the territory of St. Petersburg", a resort fee is charged on the territory of St. Petersburg from April 1, 2024.
Who should pay the resort fee
The fee is charged to people over the age of 18, which corresponds to two points: They live in the territory where the fee is collected for more than a day. If you stay for a day, you do not need to pay.
Stays at a hotel/sanatorium/boarding house owned by a company or sole proprietor. The resort fee applies not only to tourists, but also to those who came on a work trip or on other business for more than a day.
Who doesn't have to pay the resort fee
To take advantage of the benefit, you must present the original or a notarized copy of the document at the hotel or sanatorium, which confirms the right not to pay the fee. They are exempt from paying the fee, for example:
- participants of the Great Patriotic War and other military operations and their family members, blockade runners;
- people with disabilities of the first and second groups, as well as those who accompany them or children with disabilities;
- those who came for treatment;
- people diagnosed with tuberculosis;
- poor families;
- people with registration at their place of residence in the territory of the experiment — the settlement in which the resort fee was introduced;
- owners of real estate on the territory of the experiment;
- athletes, coaches, referees and other specialists in the field of physical education who came to the competition.

When the resort fee is paid
The fee, which is not included in the price of the voucher or hotel accommodation, is paid at the entrance to the hotel for each day of stay, with the exception of the day of arrival. This fee is charged once per stay. When changing hotels or moving every day, no fee is required.
